A proud history
JES Group Ltd was founded in 1982 by Mr Viv Johnson. Mr Johnson came from an Engineering background specialising in Marine Engineering.
JES started out with a small workshop and a labour force of 8 men at a facility in Taibach.
The Company expanded over the next 5 years until the business had outgrown this site and the company moved to a 6,000 sq. ft. workshop on Phoenix Wharf in 1987. The company continued to expand and evolve while enhancing its reputation within the fields of engineering it provided products to, we have just acquired a 11,000 sq. ft. purpose built workshop with 20 tonne gantry cranes and a multitude of machinery to fulfil all of our clients manufacturing needs. The majority of JES work has been undertaken in the steel industry, other works have been undertaken on Petro Chemical, Welsh Water, Paper Mills & B.O.C plants. to name a few. In May 2017 the company had a substantial overhaul with the appointment of Mr Justin Johnson as a Director and employing a number of high end managers. JES are currently running at over 85 employees.
Initially JES started out in mechanical, pipework fabrication / installation; over the years we evolved into a multi disciplined company with the expertise to undertake major above and below ground pipeline installations, structural steelwork design / installation, intelligent demolition, under pressure drilling, NDT inspection & design / installation of gas holder tanks, pressure vessels with associated process and control systems.
As can be seen by the company Safety Pyramid our safety record is excellent, as a Group we strive to improve on a daily basis.
Quality assurance and quality control
JES group Ltd have an integrated UKAS accredited quality management system that covers all aspects of our business, in line with ISO 9001: 2015. We also hold accreditation to BS EN 1090 EXE Class3 and Achilles UVDB.
Facilities and personnel
Engineering Facilities includes two sites with a total workshop capacity of 17900 m2. Overhead gantry cranes capable of 15 tonne lifts to enable the undertaking of largescale fabrication projects.
The workshops are equipped with:
