During inspection of the original void cooler vessels extensive defects were found in each of the vessels. The project involved the removal of existing 3no void cooler vessels, steelwork and pipework and replacement with new. In order to safety remove each vessel; a frame with lifting attachments was welded to each section. A specially designed frame was constructed by our in house team, it was designed in a way that would allow the section to be safely cut before the crane was attached to the section this removed Hazards but also cut costs for the client. All cuts were carried out using cold working methods. All welding required extensive hot work procedure. All work was carried out while the system remained in service.
